Introduction

Patient and public involvement (PPI) is an important aspect of research but is often not implemented to its full extent.

Methods

RECOLLECT has a Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) of 10 individuals, who have been actively involved in the design, collaborative data collection and analysis of interview data, interpretation and feedback on quantitative data, and the dissemination of findings.

Results

A LEAP member will outline their experiences of RECOLLECT after involvement for 24 months, including their previous experiences of Recovery Colleges, why they joined RECOLLECT, and how the LEAP contributes and enhances the programme.

Discussion

Special attention will be paid to reflections on being involved in collaborative data collection and analysis of interviews exploring the impact of Covid-19 on Recovery Colleges.

Conclusion

This overview will provide a template to help researchers to fully collaborate with those who have lived experience
